Mini Football Festival

On Friday the 23rd of September, St Joseph’s travelled over to St Peter’s Primary school to participate in a local football festival. Overall the boys were fantastic, they played with a real determination and team spirit. Mr Jones was particularly impressed with the fair play shown by the boys with a willingness to shake hands with the opposing team after the game. The boys enjoyed themselves and will take this experience into the remaining fixtures left in the term.

St Joseph’s Receives the Candle of Mercy

The Year of Mercy has been one of reflection for St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School and for the other 20 schools within the Kent Catholic Schools Academy Trust. St Joseph’s has used the year to reflect on renewing and deepening our understanding of the concept of Mercy and how Pope Francis’ central message of compassion and pardon applies to our pupils and wider community.

Cross Country Double Act

St Joseph’s celebrated a double podium finish in the Year 5 and Year 6 girls’ Thanet Schools Cross Country Race held on 8th October last at Quex Park.

NSPCC

In a series of inspiring assemblies and workshops, the representative talked to our pupils about the vital work of this charity and its aims. Under the watchful eye of Buddy, the NSPCC mascot, the children explored the steps they can take to keep themselves safe together with a thoughtful discussion about fundamental children’s rights – love, care, respect, nourishment and being kept safe from harm.

From Russia with love

In a first for St Joseph’s, Reception class were delighted to welcome a visitor from Moscow who spent a morning volunteering with them and getting a bird’s eye view of what the English education system offers to 4 year olds.

Year 2 Church Visit

Year 2 visited Our Lady Star of the Sea Church on Thursday 6th October.  They had a talk about the key features of the church as well as an opportunity to explore and ask questions.  We would like to extend our thanks to Fr Phillip for his welcome.
