ATTENDANCE FOR WEEK ENDING
10th November 2017
|Year R||Year 1||Year 2||Year 3||Year 4||Year 5||Year 6|
We at St. Joseph’s believe that children cannot learn if they are absent from school, therefore, we aim to ensure that all our children take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them and to raise standards by promoting regular attendance and punctuality of pupils.
Good attendance is rewarded to classes and individuals. Please be aware that medical appointments constitute an absence so wherever possible, please avoid making medical appointments for your child during the school day.
The class with the highest percentage attendance for the week is presented with our Attendance Ted in our weekly assembly. Ted stays with the class and accompanies the children on their weekly activities until the following week’s assembly.
Three times a year, at Christmas, Easter and end of Summer Term, the class with the highest attendance over the preceding two terms is allowed a non-uniform day and a small class party.
Children who achieve 100% attendance during Terms 1 and 2 will be presented with a Bronze badge and a certificate at the end of Term 2. (Christmas)
Children who achieve 100% attendance for Terms 1 to 4 will receive a Silver badge and a certificate at the end of Term 4 (Easter)
Children who achieve 100% attendance for the whole school year will receive a Gold badge at the end of the Summer term.
These children will also receive a gift voucher and will be entered into a prize draw where one child from each of KS1 and KS2 will have a chance to win a bicycle or a tablet computer.
Your child will also be missing learning opportunities if they are late arriving at school.
Over a school year this is the learning that will be lost
Minutes late each day Days of learning lost
Please work with us to provide your child with the best chance of learning by ensuring they are in school, every day and on time.
