We’re Going on a bear hunt

The end of Term 4 was marked by much frenzied speculation as to the eventual home of a certain oversized hairy gentleman. No, we’re not talking about Mr Stone but the fabulous giant bear which was the first prize in the PTA Easter raffle to raise money for future innovative school projects.

Where the wild things are…

When Mrs Dale the literacy coordinator said “Let the wild rumpus start” on World Book Day last week, a host of wild animals descended on St Joseph’s in the guise of unicorns, foxes, tigers, pigs, mice, dinosaurs, Paddington Bears and even a sloth. A favourite on the school calendar, the theme of the day was animals with the children free to dress up as their favourite literary animal.

Year 6 had a spring in their step this week as they made their first foray of the year into the vegetable garden to prepare for the planting of the new crop of vegetables planned for later in the season. Earning top marks in the sartorial stakes, the class gave their new weatherproof gardening suits their inaugural airing to much acclaim.
