St. Joseph’s celebrated the recent Year 3 First Holy Communion at a School Mass last week where we marked this joyful rite of passage with the ten children from Year 3 and their families and supporters.
The celebration of the Sacraments is always a joyful occasion within School as it helps us deepen our faith and become better disciples of Christ. Attendance at workshops outside School, preparation with Religious Education lessons and discussion at home all ensured that our Celebrants were fully prepared to receive the Eucharist and will continue to develop a deeper relationship with their Catholicism.
The Mass was an occasion for the whole school to support these children and celebrate with them through readings, songs and prayers. The subsequent party afterwards was a reward for all their hard work over the last year and a chance to informally celebrate with their class.
