On Wednesday 30th November a St Joseph’s dodgeball team travelled over to King Ethelbert’s to participate in a dodgeball tournament. The participants were:
We played in a mini league against St Peters, Christchurch and Newlands. Each match consisted of 3, 2 minute games with the overall winner of the group progressing into the semi-finals.
The first opponents St Joseph’s faced was St Peters, where we were unfortunate to lose 2-1, with all three games going to extra time because there was an even number of players on each side, so therefore, to decide a winner the first person who got out meant that their team lost.
The second game was contested against Newlands and despite going 1-0 up we lost the game 2-1.
The third and final game of the mini league was played against Christchurch where we successfully won 3-0.
Unfortunately, we didn’t progress into the semi-finals, Newlands won our group but were defeated by Bromstone. Upton beat Bromstone in the final to win the tournament. All children were rewarded with their efforts by receiving a medal
Mr Jones was immensely proud of all the children who played in the tournament and would like to thank all children who attended dodgeball club through this term.
