Year 3 Take on Operation Motion in a bid to Walk St Joseph’s to Victory
The General Election is not the only campaign to be the focus of frenzied interest within School with Mr Stone taking to the hustings to spearhead a new Kent County Council walk to school campaign known as Operation Motion : Giant Steps.
Year 3 will represent the School in the new scheme which runs for the whole of May and which is designed to promote walking the whole or part of the way to School in order to reduce congestion, promote health and improve the local environment. Year 3 are one of only ten classes picked from around Kent to take part in this trailblazing challenge, with prizes awarded to the top three classes on the leader board.
We have had a mixed bag of results so far, slipping from second to eighth in the rankings. However, on a more positive note, Mr Stone is delighted that more of the class are walking than in previous months and several year 3 parents have taken advantage of our Broadstairs library park and stride permits.
With only 5 school days to go until the results deadline, it would be great if Year 3 could put their best feet forward and walk to victory! Please contact Mr Stone or the School Office if you would like any further information and let’s see if we can walk Year 3 up the leader board !
KCC would love to publish photos of children in Year 3 walking to school so please do send in a photo to the school office if you are happy for your child to feature in their publicity. All photos can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Happy walking !
