Recent visitors to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Broadstairs may have been bemused by the transformation of the school hall into something resembling the Lower Manhattan skyline.
For year 6, the sky was literally the limit as they assembled a skyscraper city which was the culmination of their Art project. Harnessing internet research with design preparation and engineering construction worthy of Sir Norman Foster himself, the 30 pupils assembled their designs in a skyscraper city.
The project focused on researching the characteristics of skyscrapers with worldwide examples and an exploration of the principles crucial to skyscraper construction.
All the skyscrapers survived the rigours of the assembling process and stood as a true testament to the enthusiasm and skill of their designers.
Well done year 6!
