A successful year of sport was brought to a close with a last flurry of sporting competitions. Led from the front as always by the Machiavellian strategist and peerless motivator Mr. Jones, teams from St. Joseph’s participated in the Thanet Passport Scheme’s organised dodgeball, basketball and school hall athletics competitions.
After a busy year of sport in all its guises, our pupils’ energy levels remained undimmed, with enthusiasm and commitment high, and accompanied by the ever present hunger for success. A second place in the primary schools’ basketball league was a fantastic finale to a year of great fun and team spirit.
Mr. Jones would like to thank every child who has joined him in the busy sporting calendar for the time, team spirit and contribution not only to a bulging trophy cabinet but also to the camaraderie throughout the school community that comes from joining with team mates in a joint enterprise. Many thanks also go to the support crews of kit washers and transport providers.
Mr. Jones is looking forward to hanging up his track suit and whistle for a short break over Christmas and looks forward to a New Year of further sporting endeavour.
