St Joseph’s were placed in group 2 with our first match against Christchurch which we drew 0-0. We won our second game 1-0 with the goal coming from Tilly. We then lost to Minster, but beat Chilton 2-0. Our fifth and final match of the group was a 0-0 draw against St Ethelbert’s. Unfortunately we didn’t progress into either of the finals but the girls must take immense pride in only losing 1 game in their very first football tournament together! Well done to all!
Saturday 7th October , 24 St Joseph’s pupils ran in the first Cross Country event of the year at Quex Park.
Years 3 and 4 competitors ran a distance of 1 km whilst Years 5 and 6 ran 1.5 km. All children completed the race and were awarded with a medal for their fantastic efforts. Natalia Austin in Year 6 kept up her very strong lead over her competitors and won by an incredible time of 5 minutes 43 seconds, finishing 30 seconds in front of her opponants. Mr Jones is extremely proud of everyone who competed; he hopes the high volume of participants continues! Well done to all!
