St. Joseph’s accumulation of sporting silverware continued last week with a double celebration when our Badminton and Handball teams triumphed in their respective Thanet Competitions. For the second year running, St. Joseph’s were crowned the Thanet Badminton champions with Sabarish taking the singles champion title with his 100% winning run of matches. Ably abetted by his team mates, the 6 strong team of Jack, Yuri, Florence, Natalia and Harrison, Sab raised the trophy for the second year in a row.
Gilding the lily three days later, the Handball team then travelled to King Ethelbert’s where the team won a nervy final against Upton to go through and represent Thanet in the county finals. Whilst the whole 7 strong teram demonstrated their strength in depth, special mention must go to Noah whole admirable sang froid under pressure showed his true mettle as a goalkeeper.
