A certain rotund white whiskered gentleman paid a flying visit to Broadstairs last week when he surprised the St Joseph’s Walking Bus by joining them for their last walk of term.
Letting his reindeer rest in anticipation of the Big Night’s work ahead, he walked with the 30 strong Bus and then stayed for a Christmas breakfast of croissants and hot chocolate. The walk allowed Father Christmas to listen to the collective wish lists of the walkers (some quite extensive!) who all assured him that they had been exceptionally good throughout the year! Certainly, Miss Meacham, the bus conductor, had a glowing report to give him of the behaviour and commitment of the children who have walked with the bus over the last two terms whatever the weather. Battling ice, wind and rain, the dedicated band of walkers have made friends, exercised and enjoyed the fresh air before school.
We look forward to welcoming back new and old faces to the Bus in 2018 when the first bus of the year will start again on 10 January 2018.
